Hello all, here is the April 2021 update of my portfolio, In case you have not checked out my article on freefincal, please do checkout as i got an opportunity to write on freefincal.
Emergency Fund: The big ticket purchase is finally done. This has ofcourse affected the emergency corpus a bit, but not by a huge margin since the amount was shared between me and my spouse. One of the liquid fund was redeemed for the purchase, goal is to replenish it as quickly as possible and maintain atleast a year’s worth of salary as part of my emergency fund. Overall XIRR of liquid + arbitrage funds as of today is around 5.39%.
Retirement: No major cashflow in last few months as most of them went for the purchase and hence no investments towards equity for this goal, a small amount was put in direct equity which I have been doing since November as an experiment. Equity MF XIRR as on today is 15.75%. The allocation and the corpus is higher than the expected one, which i’am obviously happy about, but there is no plans to re-balance it straight away.
Child’s Education: Here too the allocation and corpus is above what i expected at this stage, I did invest in PPF in the last few days. The allocation currently is 73-27, which is still above the expected 69-31, but thats fine, the corpus is above what is expected at this stage. Equity MF XIRR for this goal as on today is 15.96%
